He got about 30000 miles out of them. He's not complaining because the Michelins are soooo much better he was glad he got rid of the original tires. It's not surprising at all to see tires with a 180 treadwear rating to wear out that quickly. I think if you check your vehicle warranty booklet it states that tires are warranted for defects only and that the warranty is handled by the tire manufacturer. I don't think you get any mileage warranty with OE tires. Spudston |

Zorro, Indeed, there are a lot of people complaining about the Dueler H/Ts and their poor performance and treadwear. See www.hondasuv.com and www.tirerack.com for more information. I'm not sure I've ever gotten 40k out of OEM tires. That includes experience
from new on: '78 Ford Fiesta (Mich) '86 Acura Integra LS (Mich) '86 Isuzu Trooper (BS) '88 Honda Accord LXi (Mich) '92 Honda Civic Si (Mich) '92 Acura Vigor GS (BS) '95 Acura Integra GSR (Mich--actually, the car ran away from home at about 25k and the tires were getting to be short time, I would have checked them when the car found its way back home, but the tires didn't return with the rest of the car) '99 MB SLK-230 (Dunlop, these made 17k) '00 CR-V SE (BS--Pirellis should be in this week at 27K to replace them. I might have made it to 31 or 32k, but one of the tires failed and the best solution seemed to be replacing three that had some life left.) And I know you'll say it's maintenance practices or the way I drive. But I know more about both of those than you do and have a clean conscience when I say that there are just too many other variables you are not considering. Once upon a time I read some statistical data that said that there was upwards of 40-50% difference in tire life across different regions of the country and the local practices for building highways and the materials they use to do so. I'm also not sure that somebody who says they drive 98% highway or whatever the high number was you mentioned is coming from a strong experience base on how fast tires wear under different circumstances.
