Hi all,
I know the Sport A2 is one of the favorite tires in this newsgroup, but I see that there are sufficient feedbacks at Tirerack that claimed it is a fast wearing tire. A tire with UTQG of 420 shouldn't be that fast wearing. Any comment? |

A tire with UTQG of 420 shouldn't be that fast wearing. You get better traction at the expense of shorter treadlife. There's always a tradeoff. If you'd rather have longer treadlife and poor grip, stick with the Michelins. Cheers, Pete |

My current set of Yokohama has an UTQG of 160 and has lasted 40k miles. Feedbacks on Tirerack and Epinions showed sufficient number of people wearing out their A2's in less than 20k. We may very well be talking about different driving pattern, but one has yet praise about the longevity of the A2. If 20k or 30k is all I'm going to get I'm mind as well get another set of Yokohama. [long story why I'm not...] |

Given that the A2s come with a 50K mile warranty, I find it strange that people wear them out in less than 20K, unless they drive them at the track. |

what you buy is what you get. "Sport" tires are supposed to wear out faster,
'cause this behavior is by the design. A tire with UTQG of 420 shouldn't be that fast wearing. Define fast wearing? How many miles? Was the wear even? ----------------- Alex |
