Default windshield wiper blades that WORK?

I'm having problems finding wiper blades that actually WIPE as opposed to
SMEAR the water across the windshield..

I've heard of those PIAA Super Silicone Blades.. but those are (for my
car) $19 and $22 (at tirerack.com) !!

I'm going to assume my problem is buying the cheapest blades.. or perhaps
my windshield isn't 100% clean..

Is there a brand I should try? Something you can get at (for example)
Wal-Mart/AutoZone/PepBoys would be preferable.

Thanks!

I think they are just a scam. Just use Honda or Bosch, don't spend too much
on it.

I like using the Lexor brands at Wal-Mart. Good sturdy metal arm with real
rubber inserts. Only $10 CDN. If you are getting smearing make sure the
windshield is free of road grime and grease.

Additionally I use the Rain-X rain repelent to treat the windshield. At
highway speeds you don;t even need wipers , the water just rolls off

Honda blades are really good and reasonable priced.

I've tried using that stuff.. Usually it just makes my wipers skip and
shudder over the glass..

I've got a whole bottle full of Rain-X Wipes.. I may try them again.. clean
my glass really good.

I get my refills at the dealer. It costs 5$ Canadian per blade and they only
change the rubber part.
Usually, I change them one a year.

That's not bad .. about $3.79USD ... I may grab a set tomorrow for both
cars...

Thanks to all that replied.

before you change the blades you got to clean the glass( i use rubbing
alcohol... and the old blades also..) then if that dont work use some
good blades like from the Honda dealer or Anco from auto zone, and just
about any other auto parts store.. use real rubber blades and not vinyl
or some other plastic or polymer.. they will not last..... but you
stillhave to clean the glass first to get rid of the grease/oils.
