stalls after going through big puddles
So, today it happened for the second time. I drive a 1987 Honda Accord DX
(carb, US model)
Back in February, shortly after I bought the car, I drove through a big
puddle accidently, at about 30MPH, and the engine stalled. After about
10-15 minutes it apparently dried off enough to restart.
Today there was a lot of rain, and the roads had like 4 inch deep puddles, I
made it through about 3 or 4, but then I hit one, again around 30MPH, and
the engine stopped. This time I only had to wait about 5 minutes before it
restarted.
When I tried to start it both times, it would crank and crank and crank, but
never successfully start.
It's not a major problem, but I'd like to know what most likely got wet that
caused it to stop running, and fail to start. My best guess is the coil and
spark plug wires. Anyone care to take a guess?
