Default 1995 Honda Passport - "Power Drive" vs. "Winter Drive"

With all the questions about Passports, these days -- and it's nice to see
so many of us here -- my Pssport has two switches near the E-brake labeled
"Power Drive" and "Winter Drive."

1. What are these for?

2. When would it be beneficial/detrimental to use these options?

I've used the Power Drive and haven't noticed any difference in the way the
transmission runs or the way the car handles. Haven't really tried the
Winter Drive yet as, well, it's not Winter yet.
