Default Brake lamp light

Folks,

Thanks for all your responses. My rear brake light DOES work as I had
someone look at it so it cannot be the bulb as some of you suggested.
I am talking about the light that says BRAKE on the dashboard. Not all
Hondas have this but some do.

So basically, it is the same light that comes on when the parking brake is
on.
I never had problems with it with any of my Hondas, however, years ago, this
light was coming on and off on my Nissan.
The problem was the brake fluid being barely to low. If your level is around
the low line, this would explain it.
If not, you should have your brakes checked. An independant shop will
noramally check them up and give you an estimate free of charge.

I had a problem like this on an old cavalier. The BRAKE light on the
dashboard (for hand brake) was coming on because the cable was sticking
after I released the hand brake. It ended up staying pulled just enough
to cause the light to come on. I got the brake cable serviced at a garage
and the problem was fixed.
