On a 90 accord 4cyl manual, is there a procedure minus the special tools for
removing the front disc rotors? Also, are there any special issues with
removing the wishbones to get the axles out?

No special tools are required.

I remove wishbone and shock assembly to get the axel out with no
special tools. Don*t know about the 90 ACCRD.

The wishbone reffered to is the part attached to the bottom of the
shock.

You can normally just remove the cross bolt from the strut fork and
disconnect the lower ball joint and the strut assembly will move to the side
to let the cv assembly drop out.

The procedure has been described here several times over the years and IIRC
involved using a socket and a hammer to push the rotor off the bolts. Do a
search at <http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search>.

Do you need to get the axles out for the rotor replacement? I don't
recall. If you do need to get the axle out, the bottom ball joint is a
bitch to get out - difficult to get a jaw type puller to stay straight and
not bend the stud. Some people have said the upper ball joint is easier to
separate and allows the axle to be removed - not sure if it works for all
models but again, IIRC, for the Accord it works.

That's the damper fork. The wishbone is the upper suspension arm.
