What year? If it's 2001- then press & hold trip/reset button on the dash, turn
key to "ON" and hold til light goes out. If pre 2001, then there should be a slit on the dash where you insert the key. .................... I do not killfile nor use do-not-call lists. |

They're overpriced for one thing. Local ones here charge $29, when dealers charge $21. I can usually do it for $10-14 with a coupon at Goodyear or Winston Tires. My brother stopped going to JL when they brought him someone else's car, because they were similar looking. He had to convince them it wasn't his car. They're pretty much dumbasses. .................... I do not killfile nor use do-not-call lists. |

You could check your manual and see what's supposed to be done at that interval. On my 2003 Civic Hybrid, the oil changes are scheduled for 10,0000 miles. My light started blinking for 6 seconds at 8000 miles, and at 10,000 miles it came on solid. I had the dealer change the oil... that's pretty much all they did, even though there was a very long checklist which did not include vacuuming the car ;-) I don't think they changed the filter. Looking at my schedule, that's set for 20,000 miles. -- --- Clarence A Dold - Hidden Valley (Lake County) CA USA 38.8-122.5 |

Surely your manual shows you how to reset that light. I have a 2000 Odyssey and my manual does. Usually it involves holding in on the odometer reset button while you start the engine. Or something like that. My wife has the van with the manual. Looking at my schedule, > that's set for 20,000 miles. > > -- > -- Same here except when I took it to the dealer for the engine oil change and tire rotation at just under 10K and asked them to reset the blinking Maint Light they refuse to do so unless I did the long list of their suggested maintenance for $80.00. The rest of the items on the list are only some inspection activites, so I declined and they did not reset the light. What bastards. It came on solid after 10K. Right after the service I was not in my home town and did not have my manual with me so I did not know how to do the reset myself until I came upon another dealer and stop by to asked about the situation. The advisor said there is nothing else to do at 10K other than oil change and tire rotation ans was surprised that the first dealer did not want to reset the light so she did it in 30 seconds while I watched. Now I know better. |
