Exactly right. I bought a 2003 CRV 3 months ago, and made sure I got
one from Japan. The VIN # starts with a J for Japanese made CRVs, and
begins with S for UK made CRVs.

Accords are built here and exported to Japan.

There are a FEW Accords built in Japan and shipped here, but a very
small percentage.

American Accords are built in two places. Marysville OH and Japan.
All EX V6's are built in OH. Many I4's are built in Japan. The first
I4's for '04 will come from Japan as OH plant retools. MTFWTAW

I don't know where you get your info, but Accord L4 and V6 engines have been
rolling off the lines in Ohio for the last year. There are no engine
changes for '04.

I don't think the poster said otherwise. I do know that when we drove an 04
L4 EX just a few weeks back it was a Japan assembled car. Perhaps the OH
plant is retooling for the Acura TL?

I'll say it again: The engine plant in Anna Ohio has been producing these
engines for 1 year already. This plant produces the engines for ALL
US-built Accords (L4 & V6), Civics, and Odysseys. The TL engine is a minor
variant of the Accord engine and will come from the same plant. This plant
is one of Honda's most productive and flexible, though not as flexible as
the very latest lines in Japan.

I don't know where you learned to read, probably the same place you
learned to top post, but it was clear he was speaking of the entire
car being made in Ohio or Japan, and was referring to the different
ones by their engine.

I top post because it upsets anal retentive people. I fully understood the
original post. I have been addressing the fact that the poster said the OH
plant was retooling. In fact, that retooling was finished a long time ago.
There is zero retooling going on in the US for any Accords, unless you count
a tiny hole being added in the unibody for the XM satellite radio receiver
option. There is major retooling going on now, but only for as yet
unannounced products...
