Default Low Gas Warning

Hello folks,

I just bought a 2003 Civic Coupe and I was wondering (since it didn't
mention it in the manual):

When the low fuel light comes on in the instrument panel, how much gas is
left? 1 gallon? 2 gallons? Less?

All intelligent replies welcome.

Thx in advance,

Alias

Well, you know what your fuel tank capacity is. So just refill the tank
and see how much gas it takes.

The Owners manual answers this and many more questions, you may have.

Perhaps he doesn't HAVE a 2003 Civic Coupe??

Read your owner's manual for all sort of data on fluid capacities. It
will blow your mind.

Actually, I was hoping for a little more accurate measurement.

Thx anyway Alan.

Anyone else have an answer?

Thanks, I READ IT FROM COVER TO COVER WHEN I BOUGHT THE DAMN CAR. I didn't
see a capacity for it which is why am posting this message here. If you
don't know or won't tell me, fine. Please don't play games.

The fuel tank capacity is listed in the owners manual. The
actual capacity is generally three or four gallons more than the
fuel gauge will indicate.

You'll never get an accurate number since the fuel gauge on most cars is
anything but accurate.
I used to own a 2001 Civic Coupe. If my memory is good, when the light was
coming on, I was able to put 15 liters less than the max fuel capacity,
which comes to something between 3 to 4 galons. It does come on early.
I have a 2002 CR-V and it's the same thing.

When the light comes on on my 2002 civic sedan (13 gal tank) there is about
3 gallons still in the tank.
