Hi

I own a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL with the regular 225 hp engine. I was
wondering if I can get rid of that bogus-looking plastic cover on top of
the engine. I like the way the engine looks underneath. On top of that,
it is a source of vibrations. Is there a particular use to it like for
waterproofing? Can I shove it in the recycle bin? Thank you in advance

Personally, I don't see any other reason that making it look the way luxury
cars do. "It looks so cute when you open the hood" kind of thing...
In addition, it makes it look as if there was nothing you could do yourself.
But I wouldn't throw it away. I would keep it just in case you plan to sell
the car at some point.
