With makeovers all the rage on tv, Spike TV should do a car makeover
show. (Is there one already?) I digress. Thought I'd offer an update on project Frankenstein to Freulein. The '99 Civic EX coupe has had its facelift. In order to get the two headlights to match, we spent: New light - $l50. New fender and fender well - $110. Paint new fender - $150. Install fender, well and light - $150. Total - $560. Improvement to the looks of the car - Priceless Ouch! It didn't seem like it would end up being that much. Buy a part here, paint a part there. Man, does it add up! |

they charged you $150 to install a fender and light?!
i'm in the wrong business. It would take maybe an hour to install a fender and light. ravelation wrote: > With makeovers all the rage on tv, Spike TV should do a car makeover > show. When I went to have just the light installed (fender ended up having to be done too in order to look right), two places, one being the dealer, wanted that much just for the light install!! I shudder to think if I'd taken it to a body shop (or the dealer!) and had them paint and mount the parts. Three places wanted $240. to paint the fender, free standing off the car! (I thankfully found one place that understood how easy the job was and charged me $150.) |
