Not sure if you can chalk it up to the "Most Reliable" thread we had here 2 days ago, but it certainly speaks of quality of today's Hondas. The quality of my '00 Accord EX-V6 was just as bad. Air leaks, water leaks, squeaks and sunroof rattles, pulsating/dimming dashboard lights, unevenly aligned cabin trim pieces, vibrating outside mirrors. Certainly not what I was expecting after hearing about the great Honda "quality." But as I mentioned before, all makers turn out a certain number of lemons - quality control is not 100% perfect. I suppose I just had bad luck. If only that car was fun to drive, I would have let those finish imperfections slide. I guess I should have test-driven it more extensively. You live and learn... Well said.
Why anyone would spend $27k on an Accord is beyond me. For that price you could get something much more refined. It may speak to the quality of one Accord or maybe a batch of them but you make it sound like it applies to all of them. Obviously there are things which need to be addressed here with this particular car. Possibly Honda needs to be a bit more ruthless in enforcing QA on its OE suppliers or consider changing them. > The quality of my '00 Accord >EX-V6 was just as bad. As already noted, not my experience with our '00 Accord Coupe I4/MT - none of the above.<shrug> >But as I mentioned before, all makers turn out a certain number of lemons - >quality control is not 100% perfect. In the case of the '03 Accord, interesting to note that this is the first Honda designed entirely by an American team. I wonder where they worked before joining Honda? Maybe they missed out on the Japan trip indoctrination.:-) Rgds, George Macdonald "Just because they're paranoid doesn't mean you're not psychotic" - Who, me?? |
