My '03 EX-L was made in Japan.

Same here. I'm very pleased with my EX V6 Coupe. The speakers are
easily the best stock ones I've ever had. My friends comment on
how good the system sounds.

It takes a little getting used to the brakes, though. I'm trying
to teach my 15 year old son to stop without standing the thing on
it's head.

Well, yes. It's steering rack had to be replaced at 1,500 miles
because of a slow leak -- works fine now. I'm not saying that the
2003 Accord is perfect. I just don't agree with including on a gripe
list features that should have been known to the buyer when he made
the decision to purchase.
