what is the function of the sunlight sensor as it relates to the AC. Its
talks about it in the owners manual....but no reason given for it...just its location on the dash. Does the air work harder if it detects light or something? |

It would turn off the DRLs and switch on the regular headlights at dusk. I suspect it was implemented for the blue-hair set. |

Just drive with the sun turned off then.

I saw the same thing. My assumption is that the auto climate assumes
it needs to work harder to keep cool at the same temperature differential when the sun is shining into the car. On a related point, the same part of the manual points out that there is a "vent" to the right of the steering wheel which the system uses to sense interior temperature. I was surprised that there wasn't a second one on the passenger side given the dual temperature settings. How does that work? Don't forget the foil hat. |
