Default Has anybody upgraded to Honda Nav DVD 3.2 yet? ('03 Accord)

I'm trying to decide if the recently released upgrade from the Honda
Navigation DVD V2.05B to V3.2A is worthwhile. I've searched to find
if there are substantive differences or if they're merely updates to
roads and points of interest. There's no real explanation on Honda's
website, just a "Here's where you buy it, $185 please". Has anyone
upgraded yet, and if so, is it a meaninguful upgrade that you find to
be worth the price?

Thank you,

Ryan

You ask an interesting question. My Accord, which was built in June,
has a DVD with database ver. 20020930, and software version 1.0230.
This would indicate that the date is 9/30/2002, yet the 2.05b version
is dated 9/1/2001. How could my 1.0230 be dated later than 2.05b?
Can anyone explain this? I am also curious as to what the 3.2A
contains.

go "test drive" an 04 Navi, and play with it.

that is what I will do in a couple of months, My area is only 50% mapped. It
knows all the street lay out but only gives directions on the main roads. Hope
that will change on new versions. . .

I'm interested to find out. The stock Navi system on my 2003 Accord leaves
a lot to be desired when you start using it seriously.

Can you tell me where you found that the v 3.2A is available? I
checked the Honda web site and they are just selling the 2001 v. 2.05B
version.

Thanks for vouching for me here Paul I saw the V3.2 DVD at the
beginning of August directly through Honda's website. I guess this is
a non-issue for the moment as Honda (or Alpine Electronics) has made
it unavailable for whatever reason.

I doubt that Honda is listening here, but it would be nice if when
they release a new DVD update for them to show (even in the FAQ) the
differences between the releases. For example: Improvement or
additions to interface, better voice recognition, Points of Interest,
more accurate maps & major areas affected, etc. For many people, $185
is enough money *not* to spend if the update is negligibly minimal.
And I prefer not to revisit the dealer to see if the new version is
worthwhile.

Thanks again Paul for salvaging my integrity....

Ryan

Okay, okay, I believe you. Please repost if you hear that a newer
version is out somewhere. It would be also helpful to know if one can
burn a copy on a PC DVD burner............
