It could be the slave cylinder, and if so, it's likely that you'll have to replace the clutch due to fluid-soaked clutch disc. Regardless, master and slave cylinders should be changed at the same time. You should get it repaired, as the problem can only get worse, and you don't want to get stranded. Cars are not tactful. It will probably fail when you're headed somewhere on a tight schedule!! ;-) Is that $320 in US or CDN currency? If it's just the clutch master cylinder now, you may get away without replacing the clutch. If you wait, and the slave begins to leak, add a clutch to your repair bill. -k |
