Hi folks,
I have a '94 del Sol 'S' model that was shipped from the factor without air conditioning. I see that I can order a new "Air Conditioner Kit" from Majestic Honda for $630, and wonder if it's possible to add A/C to the car. It looks like the kit includes a replacement radiator and heat exchanger/heater core, the compressor, and coolant piping. Has anyone out there added A/C to a del Sol that didn't originally have it from the factory, and are there any "gotchas"? Is it a major job to do it myself? Will any other engine/electrical components need to be upgraded to handle the added air conditioner? I assume that I'll also need to buy the A/C switch that mounts in the blank on the heater controls, and I'll need to add a belt for the compressor, and add fuses to the fuse box for the A/C circuit. Are there any other things I'll need to buy? The del Sol is my 2nd car, so it's OK if the installation takes me a few days to complete. :-) Thanks for any insight or tips. David K |
