Is this new design (3MZ-FE) chain or belt driven cams?

Rick made the connection for you ... big carbon/burned oil deposits on the piston crowns. The excessive compression was the clue. From the factory, all Tercel are non-interference. Ya should have pulled the head and decoked the poor little bugger. -- Philip "If a long train of abuses, prevarications, and artifices, all tending the same way, make the design visible to the people . tis not to be wondered that they should then rouse themselves." - John Locke (1632-1704) |

It has a timing belt, and a 10:8 compression ratio.
