I only just noticed that our 02 Accord does not have a radio aerial. Is it
hidden in the rubber strip that runs from back to front above the doors, or
what?

The dealer took it off and sold it on black market for $500.

That's not fair! My 2003 Civic looks like a catfish, with the aerial
sticking out of the roof just behind the center of the windshield.

Didn't General Motors try antenna-in-glass in the 70's and give up after a
year or so?

It worked fine, but not as well as a mast-type antenna. However, no
in-glass antenna has ever been broken off by a vandal or in a car wash!

It's really a matter of the application. I doubt that the little shorty
antennas (like the ones on VWs) are much better than the in-glass antenna.
