Default Shifter panel removal

2001 Civic LX 4 door, 5 speed.

Anyone know how to remove the trim piece around the shifter, the one that
the shift boot attaches to. I'm hoping it'll just pop out, instead of taking
out the whole centre console. When I put the shifter into First fom neutral,
something is rubbing and squeeking, I want to take a look and lubricate if
necessary.

Thanks

pull the whole console out, turn it upside down and remove the 6 screws.
