Not only that, unlike corporate fleet vehicles that receive
meticulous service, rental fleets for the most part just get a topping off of the fluids and a wash job. Lot's of people buy used cars and do very well by them. I (we) happen to own two such cars right now, and I'm quite happy with both. My Del Sol VTEC was a local one owner and I talked to the previous owner... he wasn't a kid and so hadn't beat the crap out of it playing 'boy racer'. It's a '95 and is doing just fine with all of 50k on it by now. Besides, the seeming notion of the other poster that new cars are just perfect and never break down doesn't wash anyway. I once bought a brand new ('79) RX-7, and the first day I took it to work I couldn't drive it home because the electric fuel pump had failed. It was towed back to the dealer for repair.
