What are you unhappy with? I've found that many windshield replacement
shops are staffed by gorillas - they break plastic fasteners and latches,
"lose" plastic plugs, often get the windshield wiper arms misaligned and
even get their nasty glue on the upholstery... generaly clueless about the
intricacies of plastic trim removal and refitting.

I just got a WICKED crack on my windshield. Got it fixed for $35 with a
lifetime guarantee. Figuring as this one is 12 years old now, the first
crack isn't too bad. The fix is meant to be structural more than
cosmetic. Mine is still plainly obvious, but less so than a giant spider
web looking thing across the passenger side.

Check your car insurance. For literally a few bucks a year, we have
glass coverage. If the windshield gets cracked as ours did, the
replacement windshield is replaced free. They have a network of shops
they deal with nationally, so I'm sure they get a good price. The
replacement was a VW windshield installed in my garage using VW
specified adhesive. I know that, because the guy who came out went
through the VW installation instructions and specifications with me so
I'd understand it was being done correctly.

Why take a chance on a crack?

Yea, I'll have to fire up the inkjet to pay more in bills though.
