It is used to indicate when you should change your oil. Red of course either means you hate your car or you didn't push the key into the slot the last time you changed your oil. Yellow means, think about getting an oil change. |

Hi,
It is not an indicator for trouble. it is just a reminder. Can reset it with key as mentioned earlier.
