I purchased a Honda Pilot after two consecutive Ford Windstar transmission
problems (1st a 1995 Windstar with head gasket failure and tranny failure
before 51000 miles, and 2nd a 1999 Ford Windstar with replacement on the
tranny after 47000) I found an easy way to fix the problem with Ford....its
called Honda.
When we researched purchasing the Pilot, we were considering the Chevy
Trailblazer...well this SUV has been plagued with electrical, mechanical,
engine, tranny problems also, CR and other internet user groups have rated
the reliability of Fords and Chevys not too good.

Lets face the fact, even Honda or Toyota cars and trucks will break
down..some sooner than later, but what I think its the wise thing to do its
to research the vehicle that you want to purchase and go with the ones that
you like and are most reliable. It helps to have some luck, and consider
taking an extended warranty just in case.

most are. for portable appliances, like CD/MP3 players, boomboxes, car
stereos/cd changers, cordless phones, PDAs it might be worth it depending on
the value of the warranty and what it covers.

Thinking about it logically, the money paid for extended warranty insurance
has to cover all anticipated repairs, support the people who administer the
warranties, and turn a profit for their corporation.

The only time it is prudent to buy insurance is if you cannot afford to take
the loss.
