Default 2013 Honda Crosstour concept bows in the Big Apple [videos]

When Honda originally introduced the Accord Crosstour, it was panned for its questionable styling and high price tag. Honda didn't learn their lesson, so we get this.

Amazing! From bad to worse. Rivals the Aztec despite the "glowing" comments
from the "enthusiastic" customers portrayed in the video hosted by what has
to be an exGM marketer.

running out to buy one at the moment)....

I cannot fathom what niche it fills that is not addressed by the Pilot or
the CRV. But, apparently some people like it.

The idea of an Accord hatchback is not new (I used to have one years
ago). Quite handy while still being small/low center of gravity.
Today, it's the whole crossover thing....(whatever that is supposed to
mean, maybe someone will make one with faux wood paneling).

It's not just the hatchback concept--it's also the whole "four door
coupe" thing, with very limited back seat capacity and headroom.

I dunno why that's such a big deal, other than the automakers will
invent things and throw spaghetti on the wall, and then market the hell
out of it, to try to make sales.

Honda's attempts went over like a lead balloon, but for some reason the
Europeans--M-B, Audi--are successful with it.

My old Accord was a 3 door ('79) hatchback. I'm not sure if it worked
quite well for my needs, or if my needs changed to suit the car!
Being rammed in the rear at a red light by a mid 70's Chrysler Newport
was the end of it.

which is where frod's trojan horse comes in. mendel is frod's guy
wasting honda's money, credibility, and ultimately shoving 30+ years of
brand loyalty down the toilet with abysmal product guaranteed to ****
honda up. pilot anyone? ridgeline anyone? self-destructing odysseys
anyone? bloated macpherson civics anyone?

honda was very successful with their accord wagons [given that honda usa
didn't want to sell the things of course]. here in the bay area, every
time one comes on craigslist, there's a line waiting to buy the thing.
if honda want a 4wd wagon, just put the drivetrain into their euro or
even canadian wagon then drive it south. [and you should see the almost
fisticuffs and crazy prices over buying a 4wd 88-91 civic!] the
crosstour is an utter abomination - they may as well call it the "mendel
canyonero" and be done with it.
