Hello fellow Honda drivers.
I have an 2004 Accord 4-dr sedan EX-V6. I've had it for a year now and loving it, it's my first Honda. I was wondering if anybody out there had the following problem. Sometimes when I brake, accelerate from a stop or turn, my drivers side seat will move. It's just slight nudge. You can't hear it, but you can feel it. Many times I think it feels like it's moving from side to side, not front to back, but then sometimes maybe it does. I've tried to manually "jiggle" the seat but to no avail. I've brought it to the delaership several times already and each time they take it for a test ride and they can't find anything. Now here's the clincher. I spoke to a Honda technician (on the side) and he told me that they are well aware of the problem, but because it's the powered leather seat they want to blow me off because it would not be cheap for them to fix it. I cannot use what he told me against them because he's the son of a good friend and I don't want him to get fired. So basically I'm looking for anyone out there that has this problem and I would love to know what you did to solve it. |

I have the same car, although mine is 2001.I noticed the same thing, but blame
it on taking some turns just a bit too fast. As far as inquiring about it,I never thought it was a big deal. Keep us posted . thx "AccordinNC" <notrealemail@planetmars.com> wrote in message news:uemp21tacrq184v0onmrgc062glgmvnmrs@4ax.com... > Hello fellow Honda drivers. > I have an 2004 Accord 4-dr sedan EX-V6. I had a similar issue with a 2000 Accord EX-6 with leather, and a 2003
Odyssey EX (no leather). My 2004 EX-6 leather has the same "problem". I'm normally quite picky about my cars, and I have seen this issue in all three...they all have power seats. I thought that the problem was that I keep my seat all the way back, but I still feel a bit of lateral movement when cornering sharply. I normally move the seat all the way back, then nudge it a little more forward to "fix" the front to back movement. It's ever so slight that my wife doesn't feel it. Of course, she doesn't hear the squeaks or rattles either.... I had the same problem with my 2001 Accord. The dealership replaced some bushings and last year the replaced other bushings again. There is (or was) a service bulletin out about this problem. Brian |

I have the extra same car for about 8 mths. now. I too at times have felt a
slight moving of the driver's seat but only when braking. I can manually jiggle the seat a bit if I am sitting in it. I intend to discuss this with the service department on my next schedule visit in May. So I am very interested in your post "AccordinNC" <notrealemail@planetmars.com> wrote in message news:uemp21tacrq184v0onmrgc062glgmvnmrs@4ax.com... > Hello fellow Honda drivers. > I have an 2004 Accord 4-dr sedan EX-V6. Thank's all. You are all very quick in responding. Hope to hear a few
more comments before the evening is out. I have a scheduled appointment with the dealership tomorrow and this will be the 3rd time I'll be bringing up this subject with them. It's nice to know there are others out there with the same or similiar problems. gives me something to shove in their face when they tell me I'm the only one. I have a 2003 "Accord and don't have this problem but I had it in a car a
number of years ago. I complained about it every time I brought the car in for warranty service (and this car needed a lot of service). It had a manual tranny so I felt the movement each time I shifted too. After the 5th or 6th time of telling me they could not find a problem, I made them take the seat apart and they found a broken bolt. Replaced it and no more problem. Well gang, the day didn't go so well. After the car being at the
dealership for the entire day (had some other routine things done as well), they couldn't find anything wrong with the seat or any part thereof. Even after I gave them printed documents of people on the Internet having the same or similair problem (I checked other message boards as well) they still "claim" that there is no record in the Honda "system" of a problem like this, and if the technician doesn't find a problem while test driving the car, they say there is nothing they can do. Well, I got some bad news for you sunshine (Pink Floyd reference). It looks like it's going to require a little more digging and most likley a letter to somebody. I'll keep the group posted if anybody is still interested. Thanks all for reading and including your side of things. Here's the part number for what was done to my driver's seat (2001 Accord) at 111,599 km on May 25, 2004 (no charge). 81599-S84-999, 2 Shim Set replaced because of seat loose and noisy, TEC #44. Maybe this will help you. Brian |

I have a 2003 Accord EX-V6 with the problem. However, I don't notice
anything on acceleration or braking. My problem is during turns. It feels as though there is something in the seat cushion that is sliding or shifting side to side during turns. It is most evident during a left turn and less so during a right turn. If I place my hand between the seat cushion and the console and take a left turn, I can feel and hear a thump against the side of the cushion. The seat feels as if it is shifting somewhat as well, but not very much. Didn't someone in here a while back say that their dealer replaced the seat frame and the problem was corrected?
