The conductor seat in my Pilot (2003) is squeaking with every little
bump I drive on. Also, when I back-up and break, I can hear a loud clunk coming from the rear. Then when I go forward, a similar noise happens the first time I brake. It's like if the whole break system was moving back and forth. Any similar experience or guess? |

I have seen this years ago on one of my old Saabs, having all disk
brakes: The mounting bracket for the brake assembly was loose and whenever I changed from forward to going backward, I'd hear a 'clunk'. It was intermittent at first but got progressively worse. I didn't find it until much later until I took the brake assembly off and found it moved back and forth -- it took a little force to make it move, but it definitely moved. It unfortunately wore an elongated hole in the mounting bracket, making the problem more pronounced as time went by. I'd check the brake mounting. Make sure it is tight and torqued. Hope that steers you in the right direction. Regards, Remco |

Sign in and use the SEARCH, or just look in the ARTICLES section. 'Curly' |

There's a TSB that was issued for the driver seat. You can go look it up over at www.hondapilot.org and see if the issues addressed in it applies to you. As for the brake click/clunk, it also is discussed over at the same site. There's a TSB issued for it as well. Go look in the "Problem" section of the forum and you'll find the TSB's. But basically, almost all the Pilots have this "problem". I had more of a click, than a clunk under the same situation, so I had the TSB performed and for the most part, the noise has gone away, but it still happesn once in a while. No biggie. |
