Default 87 Accord

I am pulling a burnt up engine out of a 1987 Accord. Two questions. Can the
engine be pulled easily without discharging the AC system. I am guessing you
can't swing the compressor out of the way until the engine is lifted some.
Or would you let it lie in place until engine is removed?
I am also thinking of removing the cross-beam under radiator for easier
access to wiring, hoses, etc. Has anyone done this if the engine is
supported with a hoist or jackstand under engine?

Thanks,
Frank
