Installing one yourself is doable if you have some experience with automotive electronics, but it is quite involved. If your car has a manual transmission the whole project gets a bit sketchy. I have heard of kits (from a Canadian manufacturer???) that will work safely on manual cars, but I have never been able to locate such a kit. |

Astro-Start is the Canadian company that makes a decent unit for stick-shift cars. |
