I have an 88 Civic hatchback, with a dead fuel pump.
I have an old fuel pump from a 91 Civic. My Haynes manual says that the two have different fuel pressures. The 88 is 35 to 41 PSI, the 91 is 40 to 50 PSI. Does this mean I can't put the 91 fuel pump in my 88 Civic? Anyone ever tried it? I don't want to buy a fuel pump - I hear they're pretty expensive. Frank |

The actual pressure is set by a bypass type pressure regulator under the hood, so the higher pressure pump will throttle down nicely. Mike |
