Hello,
I know this is a bad climate to be a seller of used vehicles... But I will nonetheless be selling my 2001 Odyssey. It has very low miles (31K) and an extended warranty. The only extra is a Honda CD player in the dash. It is silver. I am in Dallas TX - what should I reasonably expect to get for it in this sales climate? (I know from recent experience that the various black/blue book pricing sites have no basis in current sales reality). Also - will it help/hurt me (financially) to go through the expense of repairing the deep dent in the passenger side sliding door? - a dent which shows one of the interior rivets on the door skin like a grave stone rubbing (estimate for factory-quality repair $1000; estimate for just popping out the dent and applying paint touch up - $100)... Plus, my plastic wheel covers are really curb-scuffed - will I get any value out of replacing those? The car is mechanically sound, but you know people - they will focus, as ever, on cosmetic stuff and use that to leverage me down. Just interested in the perspectives of anyone who has recently sold an Odyssey. Thanks! Bill |

Scuffed wheel covers and a big dent in the side would be more than enough to give it that look. You will not be able to sell it for anywhere near its real value if the damage is not repaired. TI used to host a car wholesaler behind the former credit union building on Floyd Rd. (in Dallas) every Friday morning. If he's still coming out there, you can get a good idea of what your car is worth from him. |
