Report abuse: http://www.AutoForumz.com/eform.php?p=329627 I have a 98 Civic SI Coupe and one day the "Check Engine" light came on. I called the dealer and the service guy I spoke too asked me to check the gazoline cap... To see if it was tightened enough... Well it was not! THAT was the problem! Have you ever noticed that on the cap it says" If not tightened 3 clicks Check Engine Light may come on"? Hope this helps! S. |

Okay I have a 97 EX with the VTEC DOHC B16 engine in it, I had the same
problem. All you gotta do is put the highest octane of gas in your tank, either that or put an octane booster in with every tank. That makes it go away. Fully tuned civics DO NOT like regular gas, u just put an ass load of money in to your car with the performance upgrades, now u gotta put good gas in it everytime u fill up. So try that out.
