Default Snow Tires for Acura Integra?

Anybody have good experiences with snow tires? My car is a '92 Integra
GSR. I have to travel a lot this winter and we do get our share of
icy/snowy roads.

Recommendations?

Nokian Hakka 1, available with or without carbide studs.
Once you try them you'll never want anything else.
I've been using Nokian on my '90 Integra (and different other cars) for
the last 14 years. I live in eastern Canada (Quebec City).

I used toyo tires, they also were quite good. I huge improvement over "all
season" tires.

I have a set of 4 with studs I will sell if you are interested. They fit on
my '94 Integra. They work very well, but a little noisy.

I have a Honda Pilot SUV for winter driving now, plus don't go to work any
more.

Give me a call at 570-726-7363 if you're interested. Email address below
won't work.

Nokia Hakkapelitta's are about the best out there, although I've never
been able to justify the premium price.

Michelin Alpin's are good on ice and will wear well, but aren't as
good as others in deep snow.

Bridgestone Blizzak's are excellent in all conditions, but wear fairly
quickly and won't tolerate being driven in hot weather.

I like the Dunlop Sport A2's as warm weather tires; hence, I ordered
Dunlop Graspic DS-1's. I hope they perform well. They have good
reviews and are inexpensive.

I use Kumho KW11's on my 96 Integra. Very good tires and not
expensive at all... paid less than $60CND each at a tire shop for
stock 195/60R14 a year ago.

Strangely, TireRack.com doesn't list that size, but I know I have that
on the car, so it does exist. :P

Hi Dave, are you bent on snow tires?
I used snow tires for years, and then last year when I needed tires for my
2000 Civic, I tried the new Michelin HydroEdge. And they are AWESOME! Until
now, I have never come across an all-season tire that rivals the traction
that I had experienced with winter tires. I also travel on the highways
during the winter months, and my HydroEdge tires were seriously tested last
winter.
You really ought to explore this option-- you won't be disappointed!

Go to Firestone and look at the Blizzacks. These are studless snow tires,
and in Oregon count as a traction devise in the mountains until you get to
the FIRST ware bar. Very soft and very sticky. I bought 2 sets for my
niece's. You treat them as studs, only run them in the winter. Wait for the
weather to change and remove them in the spring when it feel safe. Expect
only 2-3 seasons out of them. The nice thing is that if you get some
unexpected weather before or after the stud season you can still run them.
This is the last year for my nieces set and come spring we are going to
leave them on until done. We had a nice snow ice storm last Christmas and
she called and thanked me. She had no problems on the nasty roads.

Tomorrow I'll be putting a set of Nokian WR's on a Acura EL and I'll
try to report my findings. Past four winters I had a Protege with
Nokian Q's.

With the Q's you'd be hard pressed to lose the back-end. And the wear
was terrific.
