Default 1990 Accord 4-door rear window too tight, won't move

Hi:

I have a 1990 Honda Accord LX 4-door and the rear, driver's side
window is very tight. I replaced the window regulator but even
without it, just with the glass all by itself, it's very tight. Once
closed, it's very difficult to move the glass even by hand. Same with
if the window is opened. Is there a way to adjust the window track?
I saw how to unbolt the track and move it so that the glass can become
aligned onto it; but I didn't see a way to actually adjust the track
at all. Window was tight even before I replaced the regulator. I
tried silicone along the glass edges but that also didn't help.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
Kevin

Sounds like the window frame might be bent. Has this car been in an
accident? Even a minor bump in the rear could do it.

Thanks for the reply. No accidents that I know of. I just got off
the phone with a service guy at the dealer and he said, to cure the
binding, it sounds like the window track itself might need replacing,
which I guess would need to happen as well if the window frame had
gotten bent, as you suggested.

I loaded it up with silicone and it helped a little, but only a
little. I only put in a new regulator recently and the window hadn't
been moved for well over a year. Might not hurt to give the track a
good cleaning.

Looks like the options are limited.

Ok, well, thanks.

Cleaning the groves as well as possible and applying silicone spray are
the usual mprescription. Since that didn't do much, it does sound like
you're going to have to tear the whole thing apart. The draggy window
will kill the regulator in no time.
