Default Question about struts

I was told by one of intelligent members of this newsgroup that I need new
struts. The problem is obviously on the front end since the rear tires
show almost no signs of wear. There is excessive wear on the front right
tire (passenger side) and normal wear on the front let side tire. I have
an appointment at the local Honda dealership to have the suspension
checked with all tires removed. They will also do an alignment of all
tires. The intelligent member of this newsgroup suggested that I should
also get new struts. Since there is no apparent problem with the back
wheels, do I need to replace all 4 struts or just the struts on the front
two wheels?

If you replace struts, then they can be done in pairs, either front or rear,
rather than replace all four. However, you might want to let the shop do
their work and see what recommendations they come up with after their
inspection. You can always discuss the possibility of a bad strut at that
time.

I should note that sometimes it's not a good idea to replace just two struts
rather than all four. For example, if all four struts are worn and you
replace only two, then the cars handling may be compromised.
