My side airbag warning light came on for a few minutes and then back off
while driving down the road. This happened a couple weeks ago and never again. I opened and shut my door at a light before it went back off (don't know if that's related). Mean anything? (2000 Honda Accord 4-door V6) Thanks, Jeff |

Was there a passenger, Mine does this if a passenger leans to one side,
removing some of the weight off the seat sensor "Jeff" <jeff@invalid.net> wrote in message news:jeff-60D05B.20504413082004@news.east.cox.net... > My side airbag warning light came on for a few minutes and then back off > while driving down the road. (2000 Honda Accord 4-door V6) If you had something on the passenger's seat, that would activate the light for a moment. Especially, if it moved while the vehicle was in motion. -- Brian http://www.cakesbydarlene.ca http://www.accesswave.ca/~orion |

I see--I didn't realize something in the front passenger seat might
trigger it; that's probably what it was. Thanks Brian and Jim. It can cause injury if it were to go off and the person (or child's head) is in the way. Tell them to sit up... a |

Same car--happened to me when I first had the car. When everything checked
out OK was told by the mechanic that it was probably caused by the passenger leaning over. Went through a simulation of the event--leaning over to open the glove compartment and----- the light went off. BTW, when it is on the air bag system is deactivated. It seems to sense when someone leans toward the door, rather than leaning forward to reach into the glove compartment, but it is a fairly simple mechanism, and might be easily fooled. > MLD > "Jeff" <jeff@invalid.net> wrote in message > news:jeff-60D05B.20504413082004@news.east.cox.net... >> My side airbag warning light came on for a few minutes and then back off >> while driving down the road.
