Just bought a 99 Integra 2 door for my daughter. It has 159000 miles on it.
Seems in very good condition. Oil is very clean and trans fluid is clean and full. If you take off kinda slow the transmission has a very hard shift into second at about 3000 rpms. If you wind it up a little to say 4500 it shifts very smooth. Any ideas - maybe the owner before did a computer programming to adjust shift point. An adjustment somewhere? Please give me some ideas to look for. Thanks, -- Tony my boats at http://t.thomas.home.mchsi.com |

Actually - now that I think about it - not sure if it is full or not. I
don't have an owners manual and have not found a service manual for it yet. There is a place on the dip stick that dips down to flat and then about 1/2" below that there are about 4 xxxx then a small area below that. The level w/ it in park and idling is at the top of the xxxx but not above it. I assume this is right or is it supposed to be to the top of the flat area and this marks the low area. -- Tony my boats at http://t.thomas.home.mchsi.com "Tony Thomas" <t.thomas@mchsi.com> wrote in message news:jlURc.120128$eM2.72427@attbi_s51... > Just bought a 99 Integra 2 door for my daughter. almost certainly not filed with honda atf when the tranny was last
serviced. drain & refill with genuine honda atf a couple of times - it will then be smooth again. Tony Thomas wrote: > Actually - now that I think about it - not sure if it is full or not. The previous owner put the wrong fluid in it. Honda Z1 has special friction modifiers that ensure long life and smoother shifts. Drain and fill tranny three times with right stuff. 1-800-782-4356 in North America for owner's manual, or get the dealer to order it. 'Curly' |
