Either the seals are shot or the drains are plugged up allowing the water to find an alternate path. If I remember correctly, the moonroof drains back to the rear bumber area, just above the body/bumper line. |

I just bought a 2001 accord with moon roof.I noticed after a rain the back
seat floor(driver's side)is wet in an area about 6 inches by 2 inches wide. There is no wet area around it though...seems odd. Could that be the moon roof leaking? thx "motsco_ _" <"motsco_ _"@interbaun.com> wrote in message news:4107CE55.1040304@interbaun.com... > gophersrule wrote: > > Is it true that it is ok for some rain water to come through the moonroof > > while it is closed. You mean inside the car? If so, no. Not normal at all.
However, if you mean inside the "groove" that surrounds the moonroof, then it is ok. I just went and checked on my RSX (not a civic, but..) and it rained all night here. There was no water in the groove. However, I did notice drainage holes. Hence, I think that these are in case any water comes in there. You should see some water stains, on the roof liner around the opening. -- Brian http://www.cakesbydarlene.ca http://www.accesswave.ca/~orion |

You mean water comes through the rubber seal around the hatch? That's perfectly normal. It is not supposed to be watertight. This water will be collected by pans under the hatch and then directed to drainage tubes hidden in the pillars. These pans are actually the main reason why moonroofs take up so much headroom. -- Best regards, Andrey Tarasevich |
