Hi, a squeaking sound from pressing the clutch is becoming more apparent
lately. I have a 98 Civic Si (CDN). It seems like when the car is cold,
the sound is really aubible. After say 30-60 min of driving there is zero
to little noise. The sound is definitely coming from the clutch area around
the rubber boot. I put a fair amount of grease on the shaft within the boot
but it hasn't done much. Is there anything I can do? Thank you.

Is your clutch a cable, or hydraulic? (brake fluid)? If brake fluid,
don't put any dino-based lube near the seals.

You need a friend to touch the pedal, and a 3' garden hose to listen for
the location of the squeek.

My clutch is hydraulic. I had to go and wipe down all the grease I had put
in the rubber boot. Someone suggested I do that but it didn't work. I'm
not exactly sure where the sound is coming from but as far as I know it
seems like it's from the clutch assembly. You can hear the sound from
within and outside the car. I sprayed down the spring near the clutch
pedal, so I assume the sound is from within the engine bay. I'm able to
engage/disengage gears without any problems. What I do notice is the sound
appears when I allow the pedal to fully release and then depress it. But it
doesn't sound when I'm holding the pedal halfway and then depress it.

Any thoughts? Thank you.

Only like I said, chop up a garden hose and locate the squeek.
