On my 91 Accord, I have an oil leak on the left-hand side of the engine,
just below the ignition wires. I am trying to seal up all the
leaks.....replaced oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket. I cannot figure
out what is leaking on this side of the engine.....is the oil pressure
sender switch on that side of the engine? Any help is appreciated. Joe

The sender is on the "back" of the engine under the intake. If you consider
the front of the engine as where the belts are, then yes, it is on the left
side.

Any signs of leakage around the valve cover screws? Did you replace the valve
cover screw grommets, too?

I discovered the grommets were the source of some seepage I was having on my
1991 Civic. They were the originals, 153k miles old.

Also, make sure you

-- torque down evenly on the valve cover. Use a torque wrench if at all
possible. Valve cover nut torque specs from Autozone's 1991 Accord Repair
Guides:

V-6 1991 Accord: 11 ft-lbs.
All other 1991 Accords: 7 ft-lbs. (same as my 1991 Honda Civic's)

-- possibly put a bit of Ultra Grey silicone at the same joints on the valve
cover as those shown for the oil pan gasket.

Make sure the car's PCV valve is operating correctly. I'd take it off and
inspect it. If it's clogged, this could be overpressurizing the crankcase. This
in turn may cause seals to leak oil.

Accord. The switch fits where the gage is installed in the left drawing on the
last page of this PDF.
