Well recently in my 92 Honda Accord the drivers side window was starting to
make a grinding noise when trying to open. It would open an inch and grind then u push it and it will go down more then the noise will repeat. The same way going up. I take it that the motor was going. It now stopped working. It will work every now and then but mostly not at all. Ok now so if I have to replace the motor how do I do that? I am familiar with taking the door panels off because I have replaced the speakers a few times. I just don't know how I would get my damn hands in the little pannel to get to the window motor and all. It is the drivers side front and its a power window if you didn't guess. Also my drivers side back the window goes up and down with no problem but stops with about an inch of the window open. I can pull it up and close it but for some reason it will stop with an inch exposed causing rain to leak in. I noticed while at the car wash water leaked in! Please let me know any advice! |

I had the same grinding noise on a '92 Accord, to fix the problem I
greased all the track etc. with white waterproof grease. I have never taken a window motor apart but there has to be spring mounted limit switches in the motor housing to stop the motor when the glass is at full travel. The resistance is shutting off the motor with the window not at full travel. I bet your total cost to fix the window will be a tube of grease. Put the grease on with a little stick. Blood on the mechanism is negative. Sounds like you may have to grease more than one window so buy enough grease.
