Hi,
I have a 93 Accord and I am having a hard time starting it if has been left in the sun. It seems to vapor lock, a little Starting Fluid and it runs fine. I have changed the gas cap, air filter, and fuel filter. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also when I changed the fuel filter when I bled the fuel pressure on the fuel rail there was no pressure( If that makes any sense). Thanks Steve |

One strong possibility:
Early 90s Hondas are famous for failing to start after being left in the sun. The cause is often a main fuel relay failure. The following describes the problem and a fix for it. http://www.markl.f9.co.uk/howto/elec...main-relay.htm Note that the photos won't be dead-on for your Accord, but they should be close. My 1991 Honda Civic's original main relay became a problem like the one you describe in 1999. I didn't bother trying to re-solder, but many people do. I just replaced the whole relay. I used an online parts site hparts.com (I think it's out of business now) to get the part, paying a $38 altogether. The main relay was tough to get too but I and many other people have managed it. I think others have posted other online resources for the main fuel relay problem, so keep checking back for more info. MAIN RELAY!!!! :-)
It's such a common problem... My friend had it before and then we vented the relay (literally taking the relay out, drilling hole's into the casing, putting it back) this allows the relay to cool. The other option is to replace the relay. they can be expensive, depending on where you go. Don't get one from a junk yard, no telling whether or not it has the same problem. The cheapest solution - Get into the car. Open the windows, let the car air out for a couple of minutes. It will start. Or it's a simple as knowing where the relay is and tapping it with your foot and the jolt will get it back into place.
