A friend of mine recently purchased a 1990 Honda Prelude Si. He has stated
that his speedometer works just fine, but the odometer doesn't. Nor does the trip odometer. Sounds to me as though the previous owner had disconnected the odometer so that the mileage wouldn't get tracked properly--and then forgot to fix it back before selling it. I would be suspect of this car's mileage myself. At any rate, will my friend be able to get his odometer fixed without having to replace the entire speedometer? Could this just be an inherent problem with 90' model Prelude odometers failing? Again, I would be suspect of a vehicle with a speedometer that works properly and an odometer that doesn't. Maybe I am just too suspicious of certain used cars. :-) Thanks in advance! R.M. |
