93 Accord, cannot move the shift lever with foot on the brake pedal, had to
use the key to unlock. Brake lights do work so it cannot be the switch??
What else to look for.

Worn shifter cable.

if it was the shifter cable releasing the shift lock with the key wouldn't
help, check the key interlock and interlock solenoids.
