Hi,
I own a Honda CRV 2002 EX I'd like to know if there's a way to turn off the a/c when I set the air in the windshield or windshield/feet ? It force a/c to be ON and I can't turn it off !! The purpose of this is to defrost windows quicker by 'drying' the air but the climate in winter here in northen quebec is very dry so I dont need it. Tommy |

Idle AC systems tend to go bad faster than worked ones.... Jeremy |

I had either a 2000 or 2001 and after turning the control to defrost, I could push the A/C button and the A/C would go off. If yours doesn't work like this you could go into the dash in the heater control area and disconnect the wire that tells the A/C when the heater control is in the defrost position. But, like another poster said, it's a good practice to run the A/C for a few minutes every couple of days |

IIRC, turn the knob all the knobs all the way to the left* (vent and temp). With the Ignition key at position 1, hold down the AC and REC buttons. Turn the key to position 2 while holding the buttons until their lights flash (about 5 or 10 seconds). That should be it, you can now turn off your AC while on defrost. Worked on my 01 Civic. *The process is reversible too, the only thing i'm no sure of is the position the knobs have to be in (Cold and Vent or Hot and DEFROST), or whether that really matters... |

It took a few tries but I got it The right knob must be in a non-A/C position. Thanks a lot ! Is there a web site where I can get all those 'hidden' infos about my CRV ? Tomm |
