When encountering a big bump/pothole on the road, the door is open beeping
sound comes on. Way to get rid of it is to put the car in park,
open/close the doors and will be fine again until the next bump.

Has anyone else encountered this? if so what has been the diagnosis?
Since its 99 I am out of warranty.

it sounds like the auto-door (open/close) sensor has a short. Worth a look
to see if there is a TSB (Tech service bulletin) on such issue for your year

It's the contacts and/or door adjustment. Adjusting the door is easy;
see if the dealer will do it for cheap. Cleaning the contacts is free;
just use a pencil eraser.
