I think we have a winner. I didn't even consider the possibility of km to
miles when I suggested toggling between the main and trip odo's. :-)

isn't there a dash light to tell the parking brake is on?
Wire a piezo buzzer to that.

Maybe wire it to a conductive polymer that will send a gentle reminder up
through the steering column.

I was going to suggest the seat, but a psych friend of mine loaned me
his latest issue of the APA Journal, which had an interesting article
about a study that showed that 25+% of women might enjoy that.
