Default HELP - 94 Civic Steering Problem

I have a 94 Honda Civic DX Coupe with a serious steering problem. When
driving the steering wheel pulls to the left and it does it a lot. I've
noticed that I have some noise coming from my front driver side wheel when I
turn right as I'm driving. At first I thought they were from my tires I had
just installed but I had them checked and I was told it's not. Then I was
suggested that it could be my rack and pinion, so I had it changed.

Just got the car back on Friday and today I have the same problem all over
again.

Can anyone please help me!

Any help is greatly apreciated.

Thanks

First question: Did this problem begin with the new tires?
Second question: Did you have the people who installed the tires do the
checking?
Third question: Was an alignment done when the new rack and pinion were
installed?

I think there are probably several things that could cause the pull you
describe. Most of these would be obvious to anyone installing the rack or
doing an alignment. They would have installed it anyway and then asked:
"would you like us to fix that too?"

So, I think you got a new rack and pinion that you didn't need. I would
start by swapping the front tires. If it pulls to the right, go back to
your tire store and raise hell. One thing, though: When you put the wheels
on, torque them to the proper specs. I had a noticeable pull on my Civic
(with steel wheels) that disappeared immediately when I retorqued both front
wheels. Double check the tire pressure.

I just re-read your post. With the noise you mention it might also be a
brake issue. Especially if it is intermittent.

Good luck,

Jason
