Can anyone reply with instructions for the removal of the original factory
radio (digital / cassette) from a '90 Accord EX? My daughter bought it as her first car, and the radio goes into max volume every time the car starts with it turned on. I bought a replacement but don't want to damage the mounting in removing the original. Please reply to group. TIA!! |

You should take your car immediately to a dealer. They are the only ones who
are experienced enough to be able to deal with this problem. Having pretty extensive experience in underdash projects (ie. ignition
switch replacement on a 1983 BMW 320i that included drilling out breakaway anti-theft bolts and dropping the steering column for clearance), I felt "qualified" to tackle the job. The instruction pages Mr. Bigelow pointed to were great - extremely helpful. I was able to pull the radio, check connections, and, unfortunately, put it all back together as the replacement I had was not compatable. Had the "new" radio been of correct vintage I'm sure the problem would have been solved. As is, I'm looking into replacement kits, but will do it myself when I purchase one. |
